Rolf Ekroth Unveils a Daring Fusion of Nordic Tradition and Streetwear Edge at CPHFW

Rolf Ekroth being part of this years Copenhagen Fashion Week NewTalent Programm sure showed how he earned his place. 


The independent finish designer champions utilitarianism, nostalgia, and the power of sustainably produced clothes. 

This collections inspiration is “lavatanssit” - a term loosely translating to open-air dance and deep Finnish spirit to Copenhagen Fashion Week. 

The show was musically accompanied by Kaj chydenius with the song “sinua sinua rakastan”, a song about love.


His garments showcased a variety of flower prints with the highlight being the yellow 3D flowers on jeans. His intense handcraft, effort and love that was put into each piece was very clear for everyone’s eyes to see. 





“The goal is to spotlight the more exotic, peculiar, and beautiful aspects of Finland and the Nordic countries. The entire collection's concept, as well as the show, is based on themes from Finland that interest me. Sustainability is crucial both to me and to Kalevala Koru. In addition to using recycled materials, we jointly promote the idea of versatile jewelry and clothing, emphasizing comfort and gender-neutral fashion," explains Fashion Designer Rolf Ekroth.


Oversized jackets and pattern mixes are part of this collection as well as skirts over pants, rain coats and hoodies.


This year had a special announcement of a collaboration between the finish designer and Kalevala, a finish sustainable jewelry brand handmade in Helsinki. They are combining traditional Finnish goldsmiths’ craftsmanship and modern technological innovations.


RAKAS Rolf Ekroth x Kalevala Collaboration to Launch at Copenhagen Fashion Week on August 5, 2024


Born was the collaboration RAKAS Rolf Ekroth x Kalevala which was launched during his runway CPHFW show on the 5th of August 2024 in Copenhagen. The pieces were adapted T-shirts and dresses and were beautiful eye catchers of the show.
